Your UAN, start to finish.

Your Universal Account Number connects every PF account you will ever have. Here is how to get it, switch it on and keep it in good shape, using EPFO's official apps and websites.

Aadhaar face authentication

New to PF? Get your UAN yourself

Since 1 August 2025, new UANs are created by the employee on the UMANG app, with a face scan matched against Aadhaar. It takes a few minutes and your UAN is active straight away.

  1. 1Install the UMANG app and UIDAI's AadhaarFaceRD app on your phone.
  2. 2In UMANG, open "UAN Allotment and Activation".
  3. 3Enter your Aadhaar number and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, tick the consent box and tap Send OTP.
  4. 4Enter the OTP, then complete the face scan.
  5. 5Your UAN arrives by SMS and is already activated. You can download your UAN card from UMANG or the Member Portal.

If EPFO finds a UAN already linked to your Aadhaar, it tells you so. Use that UAN instead of creating a new one.

You need

  • Your Aadhaar number
  • The mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, for the OTP
  • A phone with a front camera, and the two apps below

Your first month at ITCONS

Three things to set up once, so every PF service works when you need it.

  • 1

    Link your KYC

Add your Aadhaar, PAN and bank account (with IFSC) to your UAN on the Member Portal. Claims and transfers move faster when KYC is complete.

  • 2

    File your e-nomination

Name the family members who should receive your PF, pension and insurance if something happens to you. EPFO now requires a nomination, and many claims can't be filed without one.

  • 3

    Check your joining date

Look at your passbook or service history and make sure your ITCONS member ID shows the right date of joining.

Changing jobs

  • Keep the same UAN. Give it to your new employer instead of creating a new one.
  • Check that your previous employer has recorded your date of exit.
  • Transfer the old PF balance into your current account from the Member Portal, rather than withdrawing it. Your service stays continuous and your savings keep earning interest.

Withdrawals and advances

  • Final settlement after you leave a job, and advances while you work for needs such as illness, education, marriage and housing.
  • Apply online on the Member Portal or UMANG. Your UAN must be active, with Aadhaar, bank account and e-nomination in place.
  • The rules changed under the EPF Scheme, 2026. Check the current conditions on EPFO's website before you apply.

A problem with your PF or UAN?

Raise it with EPFO on its official grievance portal, or write to the ITCONS HR helpdesk.

Stay safe

  • EPFO never asks for your OTP, password or any payment by call or message.
  • ITCONS will never ask for your UAN password or OTP either.
  • Only use the numbers and websites on this page, or those on EPFO's own website.

Stuck with your UAN? Write to the HR helpdesk at hrhelpdesk@itconsinc.com.
